GARDIA 7
Control System of the Sebim Pilot-Operated Safety
valves for Rovno NPP, Units 1 & 2 (NT A 391/04)
On 06 of June 2005 DICS Intertrade has started the development of new
Control Systems as part of Cold Overpressurization Protection
Systems, delivered by WEIR, FRANCE (SEBIM) to ROVNO Nuclear Power
Plant, Ukraine.
After 1 year (2007) of successful operational test of Control System GARDIA 7 of Sebim Pilot-Operated Safety Valves for Rovno NPP, Units 1 & 2 (NT A 391/04), a Final Acceptance has been conducted. As a result of this a Certificate of Final Acceptance has been signed by the NPP Management and handed for endorsement by the Regulatory Committee of Ukraine.

The systems follow the successful experience
of developing and installing similar systems to units 1 to 4 of
the Nuclear Power Plant Kozloduy, Bulgaria. These systems have
been in operation since 1996 without a single failure. There is
a patent on the structure of these systems, awarded to DICS Intertrade
Ltd., published on 02 May 2000.
The experience of building and operation of such
systems is unique. This is an essential feature of the modernized
Nuclear reactors of NPP Kozloduy, Bulgaria. The protection systems
prevent the reactor vessel from becoming intolerably brittle.
It protects the reactor from cracks and also extends their operational
life.
As a rule, each nuclear application is unique.
It has to be proven for functional stability, robustness for the
specific circumstances of the installation. Our systems are proven
against seismic, vibration and electromagnetic interferences.

Another distinguishing feature of this
new solution is the online process monitoring and cause and effect
tracking capability. Following the regulations and the good practice
of building class 1E equipment, its functionality has to be limited
to the extent, which will assure the reliability target.
The highly reliable, proven and certified by NRC, USA , TMR technology
Triconex, which is built in the new systems allows going beyond
the functionality of the systems installed in the Nuclear Power
Plant of Kozloduy, Bulgaria.
Flexible and comprehensive means of monitoring, cause/effect sequence
of event displaying are implemented by class 1E certified communication
line and proven Plasma Display.
A compact Object under Control Simulator on a track facilitates
the integrity testing before starting after stoppage of the Systems.
